Advent and Christmas

Get ready! That's the message of Advent, as we prepare to celebrate the birthday of our Savior, Jesus Christ. No, it's not about shopping, decorations, trees (real or artificial), Santa Claus, Snoopy or the Grinch. It's about God's gift to us, His Son, who came to save the world. We at Covenant Church invite you to join us this year. Check the events and join in:

Sunday Morning Worship

9:00 AM Contemporary Worship - Sing the latest praise and worship songs with our Praise Band, and Pastor Quentin Wallace brings a dynamic and powerful message. Expect the unexpected, too, like short videos and movie clips, or live dramatic skits.

10:20 AM Traditional Worship - Featuring traditional hymns, anthems and liturgy. Special music from our excellent Chancel Choir, our Kingdom Kids children’s choir once a month, both vocal and instrumental soloists, our bell choirs, and our magnificent 1926 Casavant organ. Pastor Quentin Wallace brings an always dynamic and powerful message.

Women's Fellowship Saturday

Saturday, Dec. 9, 10:00 AM - Women of Covenant from teen on up are invited to this informal get-together in the Gathering Area. It's a chance to get to know each other better. Between worship, Sunday School, and choir, our Sunday mornings are often too busy to meet and greet new and old friends. Join us for a relaxed gathering and light refreshments.

Men's Fellowship Breakfast

Saturday, Dec. 16, 7:30 AM - The Men's Breakfast for December will be held at the Centerville Family Restaurant, 100 Centerville Road.  We will continue our thinking about "What it means to be a Man of God," drawing from the person of Joseph, father of Jesus. We'll return to the 4th Saturday in January.

Blue Christmas Service (Hope for the Holidays)

Sunday, Dec. 17, 4:00 PM - The holiday season is hard for some of us, but we as a church community want to remind you that you are not alone. Part of the reason for Jesus’ coming was to bring peace and comfort. On Sunday afternoon, December 17, at 4:00 PM, Pastor Don will lead a unique Christmas season experience, a service called “Blue Christmas.” Blue Christmas is a Service of Remembrance and Hope for those who are mourning or struggling during this season while those around them are celebrating. This special service will include scripture, prayer, candlelight, quiet meditation, and the sacrament of communion. If you, or someone you know, could benefit from this kind of Christmas experience, you are invited to come.

Christmas Musical Cantata

Sunday, Dec. 24, 10:20 AMThe Glory of the Lord is a magnificent choral celebration for Christmas, arranged by Tom Fettke, and performed by our Chancel Choir directed by William Kepner. Traditional, contemporary, and classical selections are blended in a work that the congregation will find uplifting, meaningful, and memorable. Bring your friends and neighbors to this wonderful celebration of the Christmas story.

A free will offering will be received. Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend.
