But be sure to have respect for the Lord. Serve him faithfully. Do it with all your heart. Think about the great things he has done for you. - 1 Samuel 12:24 New International Readers Version
Covenant members are engaged in many serving ministries: Feeding the hungry and lonely, providing safe and affordable housing, teaching adults and children, and welcoming guests and visitors. Click on the link to learn more about each one:
Covenant feeds hungry, homeless and lonely people year 'round. Our members prepare and serve a free meal, cooperating with several other Lancaster city churches. Our volunteer Food Providers serve over a hundred people, many of them homeless and hungry, on the second Wednesday of each month. The meal is served at Grace Lutheran Church.
And then there's our free public Thanksgiving Dinner, a Covenant tradition since 1986. Everyone is invited. We don’t want anyone to spend the holiday alone. Covenant members prepare and serve a free public meal, served from 12:00-2:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day in our Bethany Hall dining room. Come enjoy turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie – and good fellowship. Please contact our church office at (717) 393-1561 if you’d like to help donate food or to serve the meal.
And in 2017 our Care Team began a Ministry of Meals, as a way of providing support for those who are experiencing special needs such as during a critical illness or following the death of a loved one. If you would be willing to be “on call” to provide a meal for church members, please contact Carole Horn.
